Hi everyone!
On the 14th October, I am tackling the half marathon for the seventh consecutive year as part of the Melbourne Marathon Festival and in doing so, fundraising for the incredible charity, Finnan’s Gift.
Finnan’s Gift was started by Alisa and Oliver Camplin-Warner after their son Finnan passed away at just 10 days old from Congenital Heart Disease. Each year, Alisa and Oliver work in with the Royal Children’s Hospital to identify a piece of equipment, an area of training, or a new initiative that will ensure the Hospital is world class, cutting edge and truly able to make a difference, and then they set themselves the goal to fundraise for it.
Alisa and Oliver have set a 2019 fundraising goal of $150,000 to support three high-tech hybrid infant warmers for critically ill infants in intensive care. These new infant warmers can convert from a radiant warmer to an enclosed incubator, which is extremely beneficial for very low birth weight babies who need extra special care. They will also allow staff and families to have closer contact with critically ill babies, while providing all resuscitation and care equipment immediately at hand.
